When Olark fits better. We would rather you pick the right one.
Every tool here is good at something. This is where each one is the stronger choice.
You want an AI agent that answers visitors around the clock and hands off to a person in the same chat, transcripts you can export, or co-browsing where your agent can take control of the page.
You want voice and video calls inside the widget instead of a meeting link, co-browsing after the visitor accepts with masked fields and no remote control, and hosting in the EEA.
What switching looks like. At your own pace, with nothing switched off first.
After a person reviews your application and confirms compatibility with your site. No app for visitors to install.
Invite the people who answer. They sign in with their own account.

Questions teams ask before switching.
Is GreetDock an Olark alternative for teams that want people answering?
Yes. In GreetDock your own team answers every chat, and there is no AI chatbot that answers visitors. Olark now leads with an AI agent that answers first and hands off to a person, and you can set it to run only when no agent is online.
Does Olark have video calls?
Olark's Zoom and Google Meet integrations let an agent send a meeting link from the chat, and the call happens in that app. In GreetDock your team offers a voice or video call from the thread, and the visitor accepts it in the widget, in the same browser window.
How does co-browsing compare?
Olark's Cobrowsing is an add-on at extra cost. The visitor gives permission, and the agent can highlight, point and scroll, or take full control with a second permission. In GreetDock the visitor allows it for the page; your team points, spotlights and draws, fields are masked, there is no remote control, and the visitor can stop at any time.
Where is the data hosted?
Olark's GDPR page lists Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services for core hosting and OpenAI for AI features. The pages we checked do not name a data region. GreetDock is hosted in the EEA, with our own media relay in the EEA for calls and an EU-hosted model for call summaries.
What does Olark do that GreetDock does not?
Olark has an AI agent that answers visitors, transcript export, and CRM and helpdesk integrations. GreetDock has no AI chatbot that answers visitors, no screen sharing, no helpdesk, no self-serve export and no helpdesk integrations in the private beta. Visitors cannot start a call yet: today your team offers it.
Can GreetDock run next to our helpdesk?
Yes. GreetDock is where the live conversation on your website happens, and your helpdesk keeps running beside it. There are no helpdesk integrations in the private beta; your own AI tools can read the records over MCP with read-only tokens.
How hard is it to switch?
Apply for the private beta. After a person reviews your application, you add one script tag and invite your team. Your current tool can keep running beside GreetDock during the free 30-day trial.
What does GreetDock cost?
The private beta is a free 30-day trial, with no card and no automatic charge. After the beta, plans are based on monthly visitors. Prices are shared with each team before the beta ends.
